Maintenance washbasin in mineral marble

The mineral marble washbasin must be handled with care for one month until fully cured. Clean the countertop with soap and water. Never use a cleaning product that contains abrasives.

The countertop must be protected against acids, toilet cleaners, unblocking agents, hair dyes and chlorine.

Regularly rubbing of the mineral marble countertop with car wax will polish the surface and remove small scratches. This also improves the water repellent properties of the top layer.

If the washbasin drain becomes clogged, you are advised to use a plunger. Do not use unblocking agents that contain acid or alkali.

Avoid using excessively hot water. Prolonged water temperatures above 60° C cause hairline cracks!

Maintenance washbasin in belgian bluestone

Before use, rub the stone washbasin with olive oil for extra protection.
Natural stone is porous. This means that it is sensitive to staining. Hence, clean immediately after spilling, keep the surface dust-free, do not allow contaminants to accumulate (make-up, water, etc.), rinse the washbasin thoroughly with water after use and dry with a soft cloth.
Acids and alkali destroy the shiny top layer. The following must absolutely not be used: acidic toilet and tile cleaners, ammonia, abrasive cleaning agents or paste, vinegar, alcohol, window cleaners, scouring pads, steel wool, lemon.

Natural stone is not resistant to all types of stains and scratches. A water-repellent sealer prevents liquids from penetrating. However, this does not mean that the countertop is fully protected. The only real protective layer is the polished top layer of the countertop. It is therefore advisable to protect the stone surface with a professional sealer at least once a year. You can purchase this at a do-it-yourself store. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Maintenance washbasin in solid surface

Wipe your solid countertop surface daily with a damp cloth and the usual, gentle cleaning agents.
Remove dirt and stains immediately.
Immediately remove adhesive and sealant residues that may have landed on your countertop during installation with turpentine or acetone, and then clean immediately.
Lime stains can best be removed with cleaning vinegar or a lime remover according to the instructions on the packaging.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents such as chlorine, oven cleaners or chemical drain cleaners.
Stubborn stains can be removed with a scouring pad and an abrasive cleaning agent (CIF). This also preserves the material’s original gloss.
The sliding of heavy objects can cause scratches.
Traces of use or scratches in the surface can be removed with the aid of an abrasive or a fine scouring pad (Scotch-Brite). In this case, to prevent differences in gloss or colour shading, it is best to treat the entire surface. In the case of greater damage or cracks, repair is possible that leaves no trace. However, this must be done by trained personnel.
